Very Special Thank You!
I wanted to take the time and say thank you to all the volunteers that helped at the first
annual McKinney Boyd Winter Guard Competition! Our contest proved to be very
successful! Many color guards enjoyed their time at Boyd. I received many comments
on how helpful our parents and students were during the event. I also received many
comments on how organized and prepared we were for the event. The judges and
NTCA officials were very impressed with our hospitality! Thank you so much for
everyone's hard work on Saturday and thank you to all the parents who helped
prepare for this event! Many people worked very hard to make this competition
happen! Great job everyone!

For the second year in a row, the McKinney Boyd High
School Color Guard came home with a medal from
the NTCA State Winter Guard Championships! The
Boyd guard finished third and was awarded the bronze
medal in an extremely tough and very competitive
Scholastic AA Class. The ladies of the guard put on an
amazing performance and gave their heart and soul
on the floor. Their energy and emotion only electrified
the crowd that propelled the ladies on their way to their
second straight medal! This medal is two classes
higher than last year! The guard finished out the entire
School Color Guard came home with a medal from

two classifications, and a bronze medal in the SAA class. The guard also never

bands earn unanimous first division ratings! The Honors Band is directed
by Mr. Joe Nunez, Symhonic Band I is under the direction of Mr. Rylon
Guidry and the Symphonic Band II is under the direction of Jason Myers
and Derek Stoughton.
